Childhood Memories

Kornelia Beinlich

I grew up in Germany. My family and I lived in a small house in a little town. I have three sisters, two older and one younger. My mom and dad were always busy working, and my grandmother took care of us.

Our house was little, but our garden was huge. We had chickens, rabbits, geese, and ducks. We had an orchard, and my mom had a vegetable garden and lots of flowers. I loved to sit on our swing. My dad had built it himself, and it was really high.

Behind our garden were a little forest and a small creek. There was a meadow where we could slide down in winter. It was a little paradise for us, and we had lots of fun playing outside.
