Do the Write Thing

Now a Citizen

Monally Phuengvilai

When I came to the United States I missed my family and my friends. I was very sad but now I'm so happy because I have friends and I know how to speak and write English. I like the United States. I like the stores. I like American people. They speak very nice to me, but I don't like snow because it's too cold for me. I became a citizen, and now I don't have to change my green card and it will be easy to get a passport. I want to be American like my kids who are American citizens because they were born here. I want to live in the U.S.A, and I want to make money to send to my family and my cousin in Laos.
