Do the Write Thing

My History

E. Lopez

When I was a child in Guatemala, my life was very difficult because we didn't have money to buy food and help my mother. When I did have a job, I helped my mother and my brothers. I gave some money to them. I took care of all my family when I was twelve years old. I worked on the farm. When I finished my sixth grade at school, I worked hard for them. Now I'm happy that I did.

It was nice when I was growing up because I had a lot of friends. I often played with them.

When I was a child, I wished to see my aunt because she helped us. She sent money to us for all the family, and when I was growing up I thought I would go to the United States to see my aunt. When I was sixteen years old, I came to the United States. I felt very happy because I had a reunion with my aunt here. She helps me so much. I have lived with her for five years.

In my first day that I worked in the United States, I felt confused because everybody spoke English to me. I didn't understand them because I didn't speak any English. This is my little story.
