This is a story about the biggest
adventure in my life
so far. Why? You will understand when you read the story.
It happened
several months ago, in the summer of 2006. A group
of my friends and I decided to go to rafting in Maine. We decided
and
did it.
My wife and I left too late - about 9 PM. That is
why we arrived
there late in the night. It was very difficult to find our friends'
tents, because the camp was large and there were many other
tents. It
took about a half hour to find them. Actually our friends found
us. They
saw our car and stopped us. We were very happy to be together again.
Our
tent was ready, and we went to sleep immediately, because we were
very
tired from our traveling.
On the next day after the instructions
about the rafting, we
went to the river and our rafting began.
It was very exciting. Everything
was okay until a big wave
overturned our boat. All of us were under the boat in the river.
The
water was very cold but we didn't feel the cold. All of us
were too much
afraid for our lives and for the life of our spouse. The people
from the
other boats were afraid, too. We were 10 long minutes in the
cold water
before others saved us. I was looking for my wife, and I was
very worried before I saw her. I was the happiest man in the
world when
I saw
her. In the end, all of us were saved. All couples were together,
and we
were happy that all of us were alive.
For the rest of the day we
spent a nice time in nature. Most of
the time we were talking about what had happened to us that day.
We were
enjoying the fall sun and the nice weather.
I will never forget
this day. Now I think you already know why
this is the biggest adventure in my life so far. "So far" -
because I
hope I will have another big adventure soon. |
