Why I Learned English |

In 2001, I was working for a company of Dry Cleaners, and I helped the customers when they dropped off their clothes. I put information in the computer. Saturday was the busiest day, and many workers were there. So one Saturday morning in a busy time, we had a big line of customers waiting. I decided to help the next person. The computer was inside the office so everybody could look at me and listen to me. I asked the next person for her last name, and she answered, "Pardon me?" I ran and looked in the computer for her last name "Pardon me". I was looking and asked my partner if she could help me because I didn't find Mrs. "Pardon Me". She started laughing so hard and she surprised me. I felt embarrassed because my English wasn't good enough to talk with the customers. In this moment, I decided to study English. |
