Hi! My name is Tina. I come from Vietnam. I had
an
interesting experience when I came to the United States! I have been
in
the United States since 1990. I got from the airport at night time,
and
that time it still had snow and it was very cold for me. We don't
have
this cold weather in Vietnam. When I got home, I stayed inside the
house a week. After a week my friend brought me to school and to
church. After that I took a bus to school everyday, sometimes I walked
home, too. One day when I stayed outside and waited for the bus to
come, suddenly I saw the smoke come out my mouth. So I was nervous
and
when I got home, I cried and told my mom, "Mom, I don't know
what
happened to me like that," and I said to my Mom I need to see
a doctor,
to see what kind of sickness I maybe got. At that time even my Mom
didn't know, too, and then she said, "Yes, you must go to see
what kind
of illness you have and doctor can cure you."
After I came back
from a doctor's office, I guffawed. My Mom asked me
what was wrong and what was funny. I said to my Mom the doctor
said I
don't have anything happen because the cold weather made everybody
like
me, and he said, "and don't worry, OK, Miss Vo?" So me
and my Mom
laughed until the tears came from the eyes.
