Knee Surgery

Jeffrey Hoffman

This is the first time I've ever had surgery, and it is scary. My knees were dislocated in a car accident about two years ago, and it got worse. My knees will buckle, and I have to stop myself from falling. The kneecaps move by themselves, especially after I have been standing for eight hours, doing dishes at my job.

Because of the pain, I finally decided to have the knee surgery. Dr. Massand, an orthopedic surgeon, has been working with me. I tried exercises for a while, but the knees are getting worse. The doctor has been trying to get me to agree to the surgery for a while.

The doctor told me that I have to stop the job I have and find a sitting job. That bothered me because I've been doing fine at this job, for about a year and a half. Now I have to figure out what to do.

I didn't want any surgery before Christmas, but it is coming up soon. I'm going back to the doctor's office on December 18, and he probably will give me the surgery date then. I will be very glad when it is over
