Do the Write Thing

The Doors of Time

Dolly Laureiro

Doors, doors that I have closed
Leaving the best

Doors, doors that I have opened
Looking ahead

I did open doors with long ways to walk
I did find barriers to jump up
Looking for the light to reach it
Now I know the nature
Of human beings
What they are capable of doing

I know myself better now
I know who I am
I know who I was and
I know who I will grow into

Now I am back to opening doors
That I had closed before
Looking behind me for those hands
That always hugged me
For those faces
That always smiled at me

But today I can't open those doors
Only the treasures of my memories
Can unlock them
Because the doors are no longer there

They are gone...
