Growing Up in Guatemala

I grew up in Guatemala City. I was the oldest in my family. I have two sisters and one brother. We lived in a big house. We had a plantation raising, oranges, lemon and mangoes.

I started school when I was six years old. In Elementary school I had to walk to school with my cousins and friends. The classes at our school had a lot of students, my school had boys and girls, we wore uniforms, and we attended classes in the morning from 7:00 to12:00. In high school, I took public transportation to school, we attended classes in the morning 7:30 to 1:00, we studied Accounting, Math, English, History, Calligraphy, Typing, Science and the Spanish Language. We had a teacher for each class.

The school year began in January and ended in October. We also had two months off in November and December. At that time I visited family in another state.

After school we played outside the house. I did my homework with classmates, I had a beautiful experience.
