Betty is my neighbor
that lives across the street from me. She
is 45 years old. She just recently went to the doctor and he said, "You
have breast cancer." She felt very bad, and the doctor told
her not to
worry. Everything will be alright. I visit her every
Wednesday morning for coffee. I felt so bad when I
heard her news. Alice, who is her neighbor too, came over to her
house
with her husband, Mike. We all played cards together. I think everyone
enjoyed themselves. While we were there the phone rang and Betty
answered. It was Marizeth, her friend from Brazil. She called because
she heard about Betty's news, and Betty said, "Don't worry,
my life will
be fine." The doctor detected the breast cancer early. "This
is the
reason all women should have their mammograms done every year," said
Betty.
