First Aid Story

When I was about five years old, visiting my mom with my other siblings, we were all taking a walk in the park. That day there was a bicycle tournament around the park and through it. To avoid getting hit, my mom had told us all to move out of the way, to go onto one side of the sidewalk or the other. I couldn't decide which side to go on, because at the time it seemed to me to be a big decision.

While I was pacing back and forth, from one side of the sidewalk to the other, all of about 50 bikes went flying down the sidewalk. Unfortunately I happened to be right in the middle of their way. I was run over by all the bikes. My head got caught in the spokes of the bikes. I suffered from severe head injuries. My head was split open, and I had to have about 20 stitches.

This was my first real medical situation.
