Happiness Is Contagious
(Christmas Eve 2004)

I do not know how it happened to me?
I went to Poland for Christmas Eve.
Maybe I was still dreaming, maybe I am still there,
I met my family when I got there.

My whole family was waiting for me…
They welcomed me by hugging and kissing me.
It was like, when I came to Poland for the first time.
Everybody was happy, especially my mom.

We ate a big supper and enjoyed the meal.
The kitchen looked different, but only for me.
We made wishes and sang Christmas songs.
But someone was missing; it was my father who died.

At midnight we went to pray to the nearest church.
Everybody got tired when we got home.
I was not in Poland for as long as I wished.
The time went fast, yet I will go back there.

Now I am at home, and I am thinking about the past.
The times flew by fast and can never come back.
I wish I could make you as happy as I was?
Not only every Christmas Eve, but also all the time!

I wanted to thank God for my home and friends,
And other blessings that he sent.
I may not see with perfect eyes,
But each new day holds a glad surprise!
